This past Saturday I took my Michelle, Nicole and Wesley to Z100 Zootopia. For those of you not familiar with Zootopia it is THE concert of all concert events at the IZOD Center in New York. It’s put on by Z100, the #1 Hit Music Station in New York and has a musical lineup including some of the biggest names in the biz. Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Danity Kane and Jesse McCartney were just a few names among the lineup. You can imagine what a field day the kids had.
The DoSomething crew used ECOBAGS® to spread their message.
The whole event benefitted the DoSomething organization, but ECOBAGS® contributed in a pretty unique (and we think AWESOME) way. ECOBAGS® provided a whole lot of Recycled Cotton Canvas Totes (CAN-801) and DoSomething provided the graffiti artists (Jason and Cat). Concert-goer’s came to the DoSomething booth, chose one of several inspirational and creative designs, and the DoSomething artists hand-painted each bag for that particular customer.

Each one was truly unique and before we knew it customers were swarming the booth to get their very own. It was a wild time. Push Play on the stage, hot sun, ECOBAGS® all around… truly a rocking Saturday.
A very satisfied customer.
If you missed the event but still want a piece of the action, check out the “I Am What I Do” bag, designed by DoSomething.org staffer Kevin Forsyth, currently available here.

We over at blog.greenzer.com thought the EcoBags folks and their readers would be particularly excited to hear about Canadian teenager Daniel Burd’s discovery. This innovative kid figured out a way to isolate and concentrate microorganisms that cause plastic bags to degrade at a rate of 43% in just 6 weeks. It’s thrilling to think that we can begin to repair some of the damage all of these disposable plastic bags caused – and if we all make the switch to carrying reusables like EcoBags, we’ll ensure that there won’t be as many such problems to solve in the future.
