If your local government isn’t ready to take the plunge of banning plastic bags across your entire city or state, they may be willing to start small like Marshall County, Iowa did. Their plastic bag ban affects just two retail stores in the county. Two stores may seem like a drop in the bucket, but as Marshall County Supervisor Patrick Brooks says “We felt it was important to make a statement and start the process.” We at ECOBAGS® say over and over again that going green is a gradual process and any efforts in the right direction should be applauded. So congratulations to Marshall County, Iowa, for getting the green ball a’rolling!
