Autumn is hands-down my favorite season for many reasons but I think they all boil down to two main concepts I associate with this time of year: beauty and gratitude. The colors of changing leaves and harvest vegetables really speak to my soul and I like to incorporate them into my life in simple, crafty ways that anyone can do. If you’ve got kids to entertain or just a free night with a bottle of wine, here are some easy craft ideas for celebrating Fall in an eco-friendly way!
Use fabric paint, markers and iron-on’s to decorate a canvas bag (or canvas lunch bag for smaller children) in a ghoulish theme! Skulls, pumpkins, spiders, cats and bats are great themes because they’re simple designs that can usually be accomplished with just a single ink color.
Reusable Potpourri Sachet
Fill a ditty bag or lightweight produce bag with a seasonal scented potpourri mix and hang in a closet or tuck into a drawer. Get a fresh reminder of the season every morning and evening!
Ghostly Party Favors
Use a permanent marker to decorate a produce bag like a ghost and fill with candy for a delicious and festive party favor. Hang a gaggle of them from a decorative tree for a great party decoration.
String Up the Season
Fill a Fall color string tote with apples, pumpkins, gourds and dried or fresh flowers for a beautiful Harvest-themed centerpiece or wallhanging.
Gift of Beauty
Use Autumnal-themed rubber stamps and fabric paint to decorate a cotton drawstring bag and you’ve got gorgeous giftwrap that lasts forever!
