Sam Chester representing Eco-Bags at the LIC Flea & Food

Last weekend I packed up my car and headed to the LIC Flea & Food with my friend Sam to represent Eco-Bags. It was a hot day but not necessarily unpleasant. The energy in the air was that of summer and I felt a sense of community as a group of like minded people got together to sell products that they believed in. Not only that – I didn’t see a single plastic bag being handed out by any of the vendors! (Not to say there weren’t any there, I can’t vouch for all the vendors).

I was surprised by the amount of people who approached me to speak about the looming plastic bag ban in New York – and had some very knowledgeable discussions with these people. It made me proud of the awareness of other New Yorkers – many of whom were impressed with our string bags as an alternative to plastic shopping bags.

Come visit me this Sunday at the LIC Flea & Food where I will be representing Eco-Bags again!
